          as an unofficial town council for the residents of the McLean Area, which has no governmental structure of its own.
          MCA has provided a forum for McLean area residents to have a voice in resolving community problems and
          county-wide issues affecting the area.

On October 23rd, the MCA hosted a debate featuring the candidates for the VA House of Delegates for the 34th District: Incumbent Kathleen Murphy and Cheryl Buford.
The debate was well attended and gave local residents an opportunity to see and learn from these candidates.

MCA forum on "Tysons: Past, Present & Future"

On Monday, November 13, MCA hosted an evening forum on "Tysons: Past, Present, and Future" at the McLean High School for MCA members and the public.

John Foust, Dranesville District Supervisor, opened the meeting with a brief overview of the history of the Tysons issue and how the Board of Supervisors is working to ensure that Tysons, which is today's economic engine For the County and state, succeeds in being tomorrow's economic engine and negative impacts on the surrounding communities are mitigated.
MCA Looking at Short-Term Rental Regulation

The P&Z Committee of the MCA is beginning to focus on possible County regulation of short-term rentals (e.g., via Airbnb.) MCA urges McLean area residents to provide their views by responding to an on-line survey now being conducted by the County.
